Our International Experts
Mani Menon
Prof. Mani Menon, MD, is one of the world's leading pioneers of robotic-assisted urological surgery. As Founding Director of the Henry Ford Vattikuti Urology Institute in Detroit, he played a central role in developing and establishing robotic prostatectomy and performed the first robotic-assisted prostatectomy in the United States in 2000. His groundbreaking work has profoundly shaped modern urological surgery and set international standards for the surgical treatment of prostate cancer.
Akshay Bhandari
Dr. Akshay Bhandari is an internationally recognized leader in robotic-assisted and minimally invasive surgery and uro-oncology. At Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, he holds the Sheila & Charles D. Saunders Endowed Chair of Urology and serves as Co-Chief of Urology and Director of Robotic Surgery. A graduate of the Vattikuti Urology Institute at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, he completed his urology residency and a fellowship in robotic and minimally invasive surgery under Dr. Mani Menon, a pioneer of robotic surgery. He was also a member of the institute's founding robotic surgery team, helping to develop early techniques for robotic-assisted kidney and pediatric urologic procedures.
Quoc-Dien Trinh
Dr. Quoc-Dien Trinh is an internationally recognized urological surgeon-scientist who serves as Chair of the Department of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and Chair of Urology at UPMC. Among his many honors are recognition as a Castle Connolly Top Doctor and the 2026 American Urological Association Distinguished Award for Health Advancement & Impact. Clinically, he specializes in minimally invasive and robotic-assisted prostate surgery, having performed over 1,500 robotic prostatectomies, while his research focuses on health equity and quality of care in cancer treatment, reflected in more than 600 publications. He trained at the Université de Montréal, completed a fellowship at the Vattikuti Urology Institute in Detroit, and holds an Executive MBA from HEC Paris.
Tatum V. Tarin
Prof. Tatum V. Tarin, MD, is Associate Professor of Urology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and a recognized expert in uro-oncology. His clinical focus includes the treatment of prostate, bladder, and kidney cancer, as well as minimally invasive and robotic-assisted surgical techniques. He completed his urology training at Stanford University, followed by a fellowship in uro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Eoin Dinneen
Dr. Eoin Dinneen, BA (Hons), MBChB, PhD, AFHEA, FRCS (Urol), is a Consultant Urological Surgeon in the Department of Robotic Uro-oncology at University College London Hospitals (UCLH) and an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Academic Urology at University College London (UCL). Specializing in prostate cancer surgery, he focuses on optimizing oncological and functional outcomes after robot-assisted radical prostatectomy (RARP). His PhD at UCL led to his particular interest in the NeuroSAFE technique, and he subsequently led the clinical research program behind the NeuroSAFE PROOF trial, a Phase 3 randomized controlled trial published in The Lancet Oncology in 2025.
